Troop Committee Tasks

The Troop Committee is the troop's board of directors and supports the troop program. But you ask, "What does the troop committee do?" The troop committee does the following:

    1. Ensures that quality adult leadership is recruited and trained. In case the Scoutmaster is absent, a qualified assistant Scoutmaster is assigned. If the Scoutmaster is unable to serve, a replacement is recruited.
      1. Our Scoutmaster is Chris Nilson
      2. Our Assistant Scoutmaster is Alan Williams
    2. Provides adequate meeting facilities
      1. Our regular Scout meetings and monthly Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC) are held every Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1100 Shasta Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126; 408-294-7447; our liaison is Carol Savoy.
      2. Our committee meetings are held at the Scoutmaster's house on the 4th Monday of the Month
    3. Advises the Scoutmaster on policies relating to Boy Scouting and the chartered organization
      1. Our chartering organization is the Rotary Club of San Jose, which meets at the Rotary Summit Center, 88 S 4th St., San Jose, CA 95113, 408-297-6100.
